My name is Ellie and I specialize in sculpture and photography within the Fine art field.

I use my practice as a form of therapy to help deal with issues in my childhood and adult life, while also trying to communicate my thoughts and feelings to those around me. I have always wanted to create something that people will connect with on an emotional level. It is an aspiration of mine to use my art for something good, to help others connect with themselves and to show them that they are not alone in their struggles. I want to create pieces of art that an audience can connect with and feel less alone.

Within my practice, I have researched many different subjects from Urban Exploration to childhood trauma. Each time I create a new piece I am either developing on a previous theme or using a different premise so that I can branch out and experience new methods of creating pieces. Lately, I have been looking into childhood trauma as a theme, creating pieces centred around that subject area, using my own experience to fuel my creative outlook.

Throughout the years, I have changed the style of art I create and the means of creating it. From digital art, printing, painting to sculpture and photography. I have evolved my practice to encompass as much as I can whilst always continuing to learn and understand how to improve. I want to establish a connection to those that see my work, and hope it will resound with those that need it most.

Working in this field is sometimes one of the best things I have chosen to do and sometimes can be one of the worst. Having the creative freedom to do what I want (within reason) is probably the best part of being a fine artist. I have the ability to look at potential materials and create something that can instil strong emotions and that process of creating is what I enjoy most.

Art is my freedom, my getaway when I need it most, but it can also be incredibly overwhelming with my chosen subject matter as it touches on sensitive topics.
